E2 Shop System (legacy software)

Shoptech’s E2 Shop System was a shop management system designed for job shops, contract, and make-to-order manufacturers of a range of sizes.

ECI Solutions' JobBOSS² is the cloud-native ERP successor to the E2 SHOP system following ECI's acquisition of Shoptech in 2020. The platform combines the user-friendly, cloud-native design of E2 SHOP with the powerful functionality and flexibility of JobBOSS (read more about the differences by clicking the link above).

Legacy functionality

The estimating dashboard within the E2 Shop System allowed the generation of quick quotes with a single click. It provided all the information needed for costs of materials, labor, and overheads. This also allowed users to draw on estimates of past jobs and similar requests to speed up quotations to the customer. From there, the platform then generated the orders needed to fulfill the estimate to the customer, eliminating the need for redundant data entry.

Elsewhere, the E2 Shop System came with many features, including estimating, orders, purchasing, scheduling, data collection, quality control, shipping, and accounting. The scheduling software was designed to maximize the use of machines and personnel and to avoid bottlenecks before they arrived.

This system could manage customer what-if requests, as such hypothetical scenarios could be run through the platform and a response was given immediately. The E2 Shop System also allowed users to track every job from a single screen – and the data was accessible via an iPhone app, which was free to E2 customers.
