Unit 4 Expands Education ERP with Acquisition of Three Rivers System

Unit4, a Dutch provider of ERP solutions, has acquired US student management solution company Three Rivers Systems for an undisclosed sum.

According to Unit4, the deal will enable the company to expand its ERP offerings in the education sector. Unit4 and Three Rivers Systems now currently serve more than 1,000 clients in education.

Three Rivers Systems’ platform will blend with Unit4’s applications and its People Platform. Unit 4 says it can offer its education ERP solutions to student financial bodies such as Financial Aid in the US and the Student Loan Council in the UK. The US company’s platform aims to improve student interactions with departments and the operation of the institution overall through features like data analysis.

By combining technologies and resources, we are the first to deliver the full suite of next-generation ERP for the global Education community - Unit4 CEO, Jose Duarte

Three Rivers Systems has been in operation for over 30 years and will bring its experience in education management solutions and reputation to Unit4’s offerings, says the company. Unit4 already has a foothold in finance, human relations, and research management applications. This acquisition will expand the company’s education sector solutions.

New & Updated Features

Unit 4 is promising new and updated features in its new combined education ERP offering such as human resources and payroll, course management degree auditing, and retention.

“This acquisition has created a global market leader for Education ERP solutions, and significantly strengthens Unit4’s market position in North America,” said Unit4 CEO, Jose Duarte. “By combining technologies and resources, we are the first to deliver the full suite of next-generation ERP for the global Education community.”

The education sector lacks a modern and complete solution for a global customer base, said Mr Duarte.

Working with Unit4 will help Three Rivers Systems reach a more global market with people and student centric applications for the front and back offices of education, according to Three Rivers Systems president and founder, Amir Tajkarimi.

“The acquisition will result in strengthened global sales and support teams as well as increased bandwidth for ongoing research and development around our combined product suite,” he said.
